Care and Maintenance
Light
Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light levels, but the growth will be slower and the foliage less dense. In Denver, an East or West-facing window is ideal.
Water
Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. Schefflera are relatively drought-tolerant but do not like “wet feet.” Ensure your pot has excellent drainage.
Humidity
While they handle our dry Colorado air better than most tropicals, they will truly thrive with a weekly misting or a pebble tray.
Pet Toxicity
Schefflera arboricola contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can be irritating if ingested by cats or dogs. We recommend placing this beauty on a high shelf or plant stand out of reach of curious paws.
