From time to time, we’re thrilled to offer these coveted treasures in our inventory. However, we maintain the highest standards of quality and responsibility. We source our “Holy Grail” Aroids exclusively from reputable growers, ensuring that each plant meets our strict criteria. To further ensure their well-being, we require a minimum two-month acclimation period before making these rare specimens available for public purchase.

Todd Lucero (he/him)
Owner & Horticulturist
Todd Lucero is a seasoned horticulturist with over 33 years of experience, specializing in chemistry and organic agriculture. His career began in the 1990s at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, where he was trained under the esteemed Shane Smith. In November of 2000, Todd relocated to Denver to join the Life Sciences Department at Ocean Journey, where he worked as a biologist. It was during this time that his passion for rare and hard-to-find aroids began to flourish.
Driven by a vision to unite his extensive plant collection with the local community, Todd opened The Bronze Petal in September 2021. Located in the heart of Denver’s historic Washington Park neighborhood, the shop reflects his lifelong dream of cultivating a vibrant, inclusive space for plant lovers of all kinds. Through The Bronze Petal, Todd continues to share his deep horticultural knowledge and commitment to sustainable, organic practices with a growing community of enthusiasts across Colorado.
Zac Lucero (he/him)
Owner
Zac is a Denver native who enjoys all of Colorado’s finest activities. We are happy to have him apart of our team as he brings experience in accounting, business management, and extensive customer service. Although Zac will be running most of our back-end, you will occasionally see him assisting our guests in the shop.
Cody Oster (he/him)
Interior Gardening Specialist, II
Cody is a Michigan native born and raised. He fell in love with the mountains and nature as a child and always dreamed of moving to Colorado. Along with his passion for the outdoors, he also loves plants and has been building a collection over the past 5 years. Cody’s favorite plants are aroids and cacti, but he hopes to continue gaining knowledge about all plants that nature has to offer.
Jessica Adams (she/her)
Interior Gardening Specialist, I
Jessica loved exploring the midwestrn woods and learning about all the life that inhabited it before moving to Colorado. She started her plant journey by studying botany in 2009. Since then she has worked in various greenhouses beginning in 2016. She started her plant career with annuals, perennials, seasonal plants, and limited houseplants. Eventually the houseplants took over her passion. Currently she’s into Hoyas and philodendrons, but enjoys growing a bit of everything. When Jessica isn’t playing in the dirt, you can find her exploring the town with her two corgis.
Jason Martinez (he/him)
Assisting Shop Supervisor
Jason gained his appreciation for plants by way of his grandfather and his mother. Both loved outdoor gardening and had varieties of outdoor cacti, succulents, and perennials. Over time, this appreciation for plants developed into houseplants including rare cacti and philodendrons.
While Jason may be educated and trained in Criminal Justice and municipal codes and violations, you’ll still find him in the shop helping guests and tending to our green friends. He is passionate about helping others and hopefully helping you choose that perfect new gift or addition to your collection!

Tones Trees
Antonio, founder of Tone’s Trees, is a Denver based certified arborist with a penchant for trees big and small. He has been practicing the art of bonsai for 8 years.
After completing a graduate degree in Environmental Biology, Tone’s Trees was officially formed in 2024. Antonio is also a woodworker, creating handcrafted bonsai display tables and stands using locally sourced wood products.
Fleetwood Candles
Fleetwood Candle Co. is a one woman show, owned and operated by Denver artist Taylor Bruzzi. Taylor is originally from Rhode Island, where she worked as a Special Education teacher for 8 years before moving to Denver in 2021. Through her career as an educator, Taylor taught elements of art therapy to her students and witnessed first hand the role that art plays in our experience as humans. After becoming a mom, she shifted her focus towards her own art career and began joining local Art co-ops. This experience blended her love for pottery and candle making with her passion for connection through community. With art inspired by an appreciation for color and plants, Fleetwood Candle Co. creates vibrant, energetic pieces designed to bring a spark of joy to your space. With consumer health in mind, all of their candles are 100% soy wax and toxin free, creating a safe product for yourself or loved ones.

Hi! I’m Annie and running a candle business has been a dream of mine for a long time! I am passionate about self care and the little things that make a huge difference in our lives. My mission is to provide you with products to beautify your home, tantalize your senses, and empower your spirit and mind.
After going through a messy divorce, and life difficulties that stretched me to my breaking point I really started to focus on myself and fixing myself. Through therapy and self care I found happiness in life through changing my own thoughts and actions.
I believe that positive affirmations, getting in touch with our feelings, and treating ourselves in small ways will help us become our best selves.
My goal is to help you discover everyday joy through my products and messages. I’m so glad you are here and look forward to hearing from you!
